Oh Duehr Studio 🌀✨🎨
Oh Duehr (dear) Studio is a virtual art program for learning, connection, and creative expression — open to artists at any stage, anywhere. Led by Artist and Educator Emma Duehr, sessions offer instruction, guided critique, and prompts across oil painting, watercolor, figure drawing, printmaking, and additional mixed media. The program meets you exactly where you are — in the comforts of your own life — while advancing your practice alongside a live, ongoing community.
Join from your couch, your kitchen table, your art studio, or wherever your practice happens. A small group meets weekly, building the kind of accountability and community that comes from consistently showing up — and watching your work, and each other's, develop over time. All sessions are held virtually, with live instruction and real-time interaction. Each program is designed to equip you with the materials, information, safety knowledge, and tutorials needed to build a lasting creative practice at home.
One-on-one sessions and mentorship are also available for artists who want more individualized guidance.
Oh Duehr Studio began in Portland, Oregon, out of Emma's own backyard studio.
What to Expect
-
Each session focuses on a specific medium, subject, or process. No experience is necessary; you can expect to learn something new simply by showing up.
-
Sessions are led with intentional facilitation, giving equal attention and space for each participant's expression within a guided time frame.
-
Feedback happens in both one-on-one and informal group critique formats, so everyone has the chance to be heard.
-
Sessions prioritize comfort, safety, and respect, so you can show up as you are and fully engage in the process.
-
These are intentional gathering spaces built for a shared purpose — to support, understand, and encourage one another in a communal creative practice.

EMMA DUEHR (dear)
Emma (she/her) is a full-time Artist and Educator based in Portland, Oregon, specializing in fabrication across 2D, 3D, digital, and electronic forms, and in the collaboration of mixed materials and methods.
Emma earned her BFA in Studio Arts from Clarke University, with a double emphasis in Sculpture and Painting, and her MFA in Art and Social Practice from Portland State University, where she is the Manager and Instructor at PSU's COTA Workshop Facilities.
Oh Duehr Studio grew out of that same practice — the oil painting, watercolor, figure drawing, and printmaking Emma has always made and studied, but doesn't formally teach in her college role. Founded as an act of intention and a love of facilitation, the program is Emma's way of sharing creative space and process with a wider audience: a kind of backyard-style mentorship, built on the same rigor as her academic work, made personal and accessible. Oh Duehr Studio began in her backyard studio in Woodstock Village, SE Portland.
